NubiTales to Publish Talisha Snow White

September 1, 2015

NubiTales is pleased to announce the release of Talsiha Snow White and her little munchkins, the new book by Aphrodyi Antoine.

With the help of her munchkin friends, an African American young woman named Talisha Snow White discovers her royal heritage. In this tale, Talisha Snow White, her guardians, and the munchkins encounter Obe, a wicked magician who wants to zap Talisha of her beauty. Talisha’s only hope of defeating the sorceress lies in her ukara cloth and her munchkin family.

Talisha Snow White is the second book in a series of children’s books that seek to retell and reimagine classic children’s stories from a modern, African American perspective. Each story in the series explores themes, concepts, and cultural references from various cultures. Aphrodyi wrote this series to address the lack of children’s content targeting Black and African American communities.

NubiTales to Publish "Population" by Elizabeth Stephens

April 6, 2015

NubiTales is pleased to announce the release of Population, the new book by Elizabeth Stephens.

In Population, lawlessness, violence and desperation are all that is left of the world following the coming of The Others. Abel exists only within the boundaries that her rules allow – rules that she created to keep her alive. But when her best friend's daughter is taken by The Others, she can't keep playing by the rule book. Instead, she must begin a life defining journey that will test her survival techniques and challenge her ability to find what she has always feared: hope.

Scheduled for release on April 15, 2015, this dystopic read is Elizabeth’s first published novel.  With a repertoire of short horror stories under her belt, her personal philosophy is, the bloodier the better.

NubiTales publisher, Aphrodyi Antoine notes, “Elizabeth has a penchant for telling tales which curdle your blood.” She further explains, “Dejected survivors traverse through dilapidated cityscapes and live between survival and extinction. The remnant of those who coexist with The Others have no other option but to subject themselves to The Others’ fancies for human blood.”

Elizabeth has worked as a political correspondent and travel writer across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. A native of Seattle, Elizabeth currently lives in Johannesburg.
